Types and prices of motorway vignettes in the Slovak Republic

In the Slovak Republic, motorway vignettes are sold exclusively in electronic form. This represents a payment for using restricted sections of motorways for a certain period of time, regardless of the distance traveled by the vehicle.

The types of Slovak e-vignettes are determined by Act No. 488/2013 Coll. on motorway vignettes and on amendments and supplements to certain laws, as amended. According to this law, there are four types of motorway vignettes: annual, 30-day, 10-day, and 1-day Slovak vignettes.

• The annual Slovak motorway vignette is valid for 365 days, including the day specified by the user when paying for roads in Slovakia.

• The 30-day Slovak motorway vignette is valid for 30 days, starting from the day specified by the user when paying for toll road sections in Slovakia.

• The 10-day Slovak motorway vignette is valid for 10 days, starting from the day specified by the user when purchasing the Slovak vignette.

• The 1-day Slovak motorway vignette is valid until 24:00 on the date specified by the user when paying the road fee in Slovakia.

The following tables provide information on the required type and number of Slovak electronic motorway vignettes, depending on the vehicle category and the maximum technically permissible total weight of the vehicle or, respectively, the maximum technically permissible weight of the vehicle combination (the maximum technically permissible weight of the vehicle/maximum technically permissible weight of the vehicle combination is defined by the value specified in Part 1 of the Vehicle Registration Certificate).
